Neo-psychedelic synth-pop heroes MGMT have returned with their first single since their self-titled 2013 album, and it’s dastardly amazing.

The band bring an updated eighties gothic feel to their synth-works with “Little Dark Age“, their first single in four years, and even capture the essence of The Cure with their striking video, directed by Nathaniel Axel & David MacNutt.

The band debuted the mesmerizing track at a festival show earlier this year and are prepping their third album for the start of next year, in an interview with NPR the band claimed that their album is influenced by the social downfall of the last few years since their disappearance.
