Modern alternative hero Mark Lanegan has released the lead single off his upcoming latest Mark Lanegan Band album Gargoyle and announces a tour to follow.

The single balances the usual alternative rock power of Lanegan, along with the synthetic elements that he played with on his solo attempts, notably his last album Phantom Radio.

Lanegan has enlisted a great list of guests for the record too, including QOTSA leader Josh Homme, Greg Dulli, Alain Johannes and Duke Garwood.

While the former Screaming Trees and Queens of The Stone Age member has been known for his work with others, this album seems to be a pure Lanegan effort to expand his ever-amazing catalogue.

Lanegan has announced a UK tour to follow which will include a Manchester O2 Ritz show and even a slot at Glastonbury.
