The legendary drummer for The Allman Brothers Band, Butch Trucks has passed away as confirmed by Chesapeake Bay Blues Festival, quoting Lee Trucks, his cousin.

*UPDATE*
We can now confirm that Butch Trucks‘ death has been ruled a suicide, following confirmation that he shot himself in the head while his wife stood nearby. There have been no reports of any reasons or suicide notes left.

Trucks was the drummer for the excellent Allman Brothers Band, who were one of rock’s legendary bands.

His nephew Derek Trucks is the frontman for The Tedeschi Trucks Band, who grew into a band of similar style and strength of the Allman Brothers Band.
