Father John Misty, the modern day cult icon of satirical and often beautiful sounds has released the debut single off his upcoming third album.
The single “Pure Comedy” takes an obvious swipe at America‘s new President (and talking point) Donald Trump, while showcasing the usual work of Misty.
Misty takes a dark and haunting look at modern America with his piano backing, similar to songs such as “Bored in the USA” off his acclaimed last effort I Love You, Honeybear.
His third album will be released on March 31st 2017 [Correction: April 7th] through Bella Union and Sub Pop Records.
