Chicago artist Donnie Trumpet announced today on his Facebook account that he’s officially changed his stage name from the well-known Donnie Trumpet to his birth name Nico Segal. 

Nico, the former Donnie, has gained a name over the last few years working as part of The Social Experiment and with the great Chance The Rapper, including working on the 2015 masterpiece Surf with The Social Experiment and recently on Chance The Rapper‘s No. 1 album Colouring Book. 

Segal changed his name due to recently elected 45th President of the United States Donald Trump‘s “hurtful message”. 

Just because Nico has dropped his Donnie Trumpet name, doesn’t mean he’s dropping his trumpet anytime soon. Expect more from Nico in 2017.
