The Stranglers Announce Liverpool Academy Date

Legendary punk/new wave band The Stranglers have announced their return to Liverpool set for March 31st 2017, the band known for hits such as “Peaches”, “No More Heroes” and “Golden Brown” will invade the O2 Academy on their tour titled The Classic Collection. On the act’s last tour, they claimed it was their biggest attended since 1978.

The band were on the forefront of British punk rock in the mid-to-late 1970s along with bands such as Sex Pistols, The Clash, Buzzcocks and others yet grew more refined once the genre had passed out, heading towards a new wave sound.

The band are notable in Liverpool for being the first band to play the iconic punk location Eric’s Club in October 1976.

Joining the band as special guest will be the London dub rockers Ruts D.C. Tickets are on-sale Friday 23rd September, with O2 pre-sale starting on Wednesday.
