The Membranes Set To Play The Magnet In September

The post-punk noise legends The Membranes are set to descend onto The Magnet on September 30th 2016 for a date supported by Super Fast Girlie Show.

The legendary outfit, built out of the unsuccessful makeshift efforts by bassist player and vocalist John Robb, took the world by storm in the 80s/90s with their loud punk rock style and acclaimed lyrical ability with vocal delivery.

The band formed in 1977 have been on the radar of everyone since at least 1982’s single “Muscles” which was raved and acclaimed by the British press and most notably legendary disc jockey John Peel. Ever since, the band have dabbled in their original post-punk sound towards a dark avant noise, which they have been named as pioneers off by acts like Sonic Youth.

The band disbanded in 1990 but reunited in 2009 following a request from My Bloody Valentine to join their curated version of All Tomorrows Parties. Since then the band have gone onto a path of putting their live performances ahead of everything, after playing on-top of the Blackpool Tower (being the first band to do-so), and have been creating an impact with every live gig they hold.

The band last played Liverpool last year with a sell-out Kazimier gig with Buzzcocks.

This is sure to be something special, tickets are on-sale now via Skiddle.
