On Cloud Nine: The Temptations To Play Echo Arena

Just My Imagination? No, it’s not. Motown legends The Temptations will be playing the Echo Arena on October 21st with The Four Tops (and a special guest: Tavares). The classic act held together by founding member Otis Williams, will be touring the UK with long-time tour allies The Four Tops.

The Temptations are one of the most successful groups in music history, selling over 10 million records and are still one of the best Motown acts still in the game.

The Temptations have been making and taking their hits on the road for over 50 years and have graced the UK almost every year.

“When I hear artists talking about ‘they get tired of singing that same old song,’ the first thing that comes to my mind is that artist should quit,” Original member Otis Williams tells the Chicago Tribune back in 2013, “Whenever we start off with ‘My Girl’ or any of our hits, the audience starts to applaud and their faces light up like a Christmas tree. We feed off that.”

They’re joined by co-headline act The Four Tops, the legendary “Doo-Wop” group who along with The Temptations (and a special class of groups) helped create the Motown sound in the 1950s/60s and inspired multiple generations of new acts.

The Four Tops have been notably inducted into several Hall of Fame organizations such as the Rock & Roll Hall of Fame (in 1990, a year after The Temptations) and the Vocal Group Hall of Fame (in 1999, same year as The Temptations).

Along the 7 dates on the tour (and Liverpool), both acts will be joined by their special guest, the family soul group Tavares who will be exclusively on these dates (not the following Southend show).

Tickets for The Temptations / The Four Tops (with Special Guest: Tavares) are on sale now right here!
