Brian Jonestown Massacre Release Two New Tracks Ahead of Academy Gig

Legendary underground psychedelic garage rock kings the Brian Jonestown Massacre have released two new “works in progress” ahead of their UK tour in-which they’ll play the Liverpool Academy in June.

The band, led by frontman Anton Newcombe, has reccently went into a more experimental way and with the band stuck in Berlin recording their latest LP, we’re set to gain the most unique Brian Jonestown Massacre album yet.

The band has dedicated both new tracks to a series of inspirational artists, the first “Throbbing Gristle” was dedicated to both John Cale (formally of legendary outfit The Velvet Underground) and jokingly Wales (where Anton’s wife is from).

The second of the two, titled “FACT 67” was dedicated to Jah Wobble (of Public Image LTD) and Peter Hook (formally of Joy Division and New Order, now of Peter Hook & The Light). “FACT 67” is very catchy, and could be the better of the two.

Let’s hope that when Brian Jonestown Massacre hits the Academy and the rest of the UK in July that they’ll have these two on the setlists, I could imagine “FACT 67” to be a very mirage inspiring live experience.

The band plays the Academy on the 14th of June and have a good line-up of UK dates attached that can be all found here. You can grab tickets for The Brian Jonestown Massacre‘s Liverpool date at the Club Evol site here!
